Tennessee ~ Kiiara
hello world,
While life has slowed down half a second I’ve managed the most peaceful break from city & chaos of overload balancing school, work and play. I have had a chance to pause, breathe and organize my thoughts and ideas into this little creation of mine.
I decided to wrap presents a little differently this year. Took me 4x as long but hey no complaining when I was hidden away in our cozy cabin surrounded by feathery snow, old Christmas classics spinning away, sipping champagne & constantly grabbing for just one more piece of that homemade peppermint bark. Oh and 3 dogs, 1 cat and my five year old niece by my side. The days approaching Christmas morning topped the 25th itself. Preparing, wrapping, baking, singing, and of course dancing. My family’s faces opening each carefully personalized present stand out from all the rest.
The idea of repurposing paper was thought of when I grew tired of looking at the waste left behind the day after Christmas and the piles of typical store bought wrapping paper unable to be recycled because of their specific makeup.
Think of how many magazines and newspapers you have lying around simply gathering dust. It’s too easy. I flipped through over 30 magazines tearing out personalized little messages and images for each family member.
Mod Podge is not the most environmentally friendly crafting glue but while I continue the search for a more conscious collage sidekick it does the job. I’ve also learned through trial and error that a little goes a long way with this magical stuff!
